Siete Pecados

Known as the "Heart of Coron," Siete Pecados is a cluster of seven limestone islets steeped in local legend. Folklore tells of seven sisters who went swimming against their mother's wishes and were transformed into these islands as a reminder of their disobedience. Today, it is a premier marine sanctuary where you can explore vibrant coral gardens and swim through massive schools of tropical fish. The best way to experience it is by boat; the sanctuary is just a short 15-to-20-minute ride from Coron town, making it the perfect first stop for your island-hopping adventure. To make the most of your visit, we recommend arriving in the early morning to catch the marine life at its most active before the midday crowds arrive.

Mt. Tapyas

Rising 210 meters above sea level, Mount Tapyas is Coron's most iconic land-based landmark, identifiable by the massive cross and "CORON" sign that watch over the town. To reach the summit, visitors embark on a journey up 724 concrete steps, a climb that rewards travelers with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the rolling hills of Busuanga and the distant limestone peaks of Coron Bay. It is best experienced at sunset when the sky transforms into a canvas of orange and pink, or during a quiet sunrise hike to beat the tropical heat. Located just a short walk or a quick tricycle ride from the center of Coron Town, the base of the stairs is easily accessible, and many choose to visit as the grand finale of a town tour before heading to the nearby hot springs to relax.

Kayangan Lake

Named after the native red-vented cockatoo (kayangag), Kayangan Lake is a sacred landscape protected by the indigenous Tagbanua people. Regulated under strict community-led conservation rules since the early 2000s, this iconic wonder blends crystal-clear freshwater with oceanic saltwater. The experience offers a legendary viewpoint hike, mesmerizing underwater rock topography, and a deep connection to indigenous cultural history.

Twin Lagoon

A natural masterclass in limestone karst architecture, Twin Lagoon consists of two massive aquatic basins separated by a monolithic stone wall. The inner and outer lagoons dynamically shift with the tides: high tide permits boats to seamlessly pass through the rock opening, while low tide forces adventurous swimmers to climb or glide through a small, narrow gap beneath the limestone.

Malwawey & The Coral Gardens

Across Coron’s premier snorkeling shelf—encompassing Malwawey (Atwayan), Quin, and Twin Peaks Reefs—visibility remains flawless. These highly protected marine sanctuaries feature thriving, shallow coral ecosystems where snorkelers drift effortlessly over clownfish nestled in sea anemones, pairs of grazing parrotfish and angelfish, schools of surgeonfish, and occasional reef sharks gliding gracefully through deeper channels.

Banul Beach

A pristine, crescent-shaped white-sand pocket framed by vertical karst walls, Banul Beach is the classic island-hopping lunch escape. Visitors dine on freshly prepared seafood in simple seaside nipa huts. As midday boats depart, the beach slips into a serene, tranquil quiet, illuminated by soft afternoon light dancing across the limestone cliffs.

CYC Beach

The Coron Youth Club (CYC) Beach stands out as a relaxed, family-friendly stop boasting an open, fee-free entry policy. Ringed by lush, natural mangroves, its gently sloping, shallow sandy shoreline is tailor-made for casual swimming, family relaxation, and beginner-friendly snorkeling in exceptionally calm waters.

Malcapuya Island

Situated further out in the stunning Calamian Islands, Malcapuya is a premier beach escape. It features an expansive, coconut-lined white shoreline protected by a distant reef barrier. The resulting waters are quiet, glassy, and shallow—ideal for relaxing beachside or taking a short hillside trek to capture panoramic vistas of the surrounding open sea.

Banana Island

Named for its distinctly curved shoreline that resembles a banana when approached from the sea, this island is dedicated to pure relaxation. Free from commercial plantations, it instead offers hammocks strung between coconut palms, rustic beach huts, and gentle, clear shallows perfect for a casual swim and unhurried beachside picnics.

Ditaytayan Island

A crown jewel of the Culion maritime route, Ditaytayan is defined by its breathtaking, powdery white sandbar that dramatically stretches into the turquoise sea, changing form and vanishing entirely at high tide. Beyond its iconic sandbar, the island transitions into secluded stretches like 'Long Beach', offering ultimate tropical privacy.

Bulog Dos Island

This compact but stunning islet is famous for its narrow, high-visibility sandbar linking it to neighboring landmasses. Highly photogenic during low tide, the exposed walkway provides a surreal path surrounded by shallow pools on either side, making it an essential photographic stop in the southern circuit.

Coco Beach

An untamed, coconut-dense shoreline in Culion that offers a quiet alternative to busier mainland hubs. Boasting a classic, castaway island atmosphere, visitors can lounge in its shallow waters (though checking seasonal tidal currents with guides is recommended to easily avoid transient jellyfish).

Lusong Gunboat

A direct relic of the 1944 Battle of Coron Bay, this historical Japanese gunboat rests on a shallow, sloping seafloor. Accessible even to casual snorkelers and novice divers, the steel hull has completely transformed into a flourishing artificial reef, covered in vibrant corals and enveloped by dense schools of tropical fish.

Lusong Coral Garden

Widely regarded as the premier coral shelf in the Calamianes archipelago, this vast marine system relies on a powerful, nutrient-rich current. Snorkelers and divers experience effortless 'drift exploration'—boats drop you at one end of the massive reef and collect you at the other. The reeftop sits at just 4 meters, packed with dense gorgonian sea fans and massive Acropora table corals before dropping steeply into a 40-meter abyss.
